I grew up playing just about any sport I could get myself into. In High School, I played soccer, tennis, and ran track for a couple years. I loved competing and I loved the camaraderie of being part of a team. After graduating highschool, there was nothing in my life that replaced that level of competition and there was nothing that kept me moving. I wasn't a huge fan of bodybuilding workouts and I never knew what to do when I was in that gym setting... Throughout my 20s, I gained a whole bunch of weight and started to hear words like "hypertension" and pre-diabetes" from my doctors. In 2015, a couple of my friends started talking about this new and exciting thing called "CrossFit." I immediately fell in love with the workouts as they scratched the competitive itch and gave me an instant community of people that I was working with towards a bunch of new goals. In 2017, I got my L1 and the next year started working full time as a CrossFit coach. I joined the staff at Invictus Boston in 2021, as the city of Boston was coming back to life after the Covid shutdowns. My favorite part of coaching is watching an athlete light up when they accomplish something they had previously thought to be impossible for them. Watching someone light up after their first pull-up or hitting a PR on a lift is what keeps me coming back 8 years into this career.
